Democracy

Participate in our democratically-elected government

This is where democracy starts: be informed.  Public Notices are required by law in order to invite public comment when certain actions of your government are being considered.

Voting is fundamental to a functioning democracy. In this section, you will find information on registering to vote, locating your polling place, and voting from a foreign country.

There are many ways to participate in your local government in addition to voting. In the section Township Board, Commissions, and Committees you will find meeting dates and agendas for the Board of Trustees and all of its advisory boards, committees, and commissions. Apply to join an advisory board or commission here. All interested parties are encouraged to attend any of these public meetings.

Read the exact language of the Laws and Policies that govern our Township.

Look to the Budget and Finance page to read the budget for the current fiscal year, examine the Board-approved Finance Plans and Policies, and Reports of the Budget and Finance Committee.

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) enables citizens to request to view or obtain copies of most government records.
