Property Taxes

I want to pay my tax bill

Did You Receive Your Tax Bill?

Summer tax bills should be received by the first week in July and are due by September 14. Winter tax bills should be received by the first week of December and are due by February 14. If you did not receive yours (and it is not to be paid by your mortgage company), please call the Township office at 734/369-9400. We can verify the mailing address and re-mail your bill to you. Interest on outstanding balances accrues after the due-date at the rate of 1% per month.

Scio Township collects property taxes from July 1, the year of any given tax, through February 28 of the following year. Any taxes still due on March 1 are referred to the Washtenaw County Treasurer for continued collection. Further inquiry as to the status of these taxes must be directed to the Washtenaw County Treasurer’s office.

In an effort to help residents better understand their tax bill, this chart was created by Washtenaw County to show the smaller, more specific millages that comprise the "Washtenaw County" rate found on their property tax bills.

Look Up My Property Tax Information

Clicking on the link below will take you out of  Scio Township’s website and direct you to an external database of Tax, Assessing and Utility information. There you can look up your tax and utility information and pay your bills online. If you choose to pay your bills via credit card, there is a 3% surcharge; if you choose to pay with an electronic check, there is a flat fee of $3.00 per transaction. Once the new page has loaded, select the desired Service from the side-bar, then search by Owner Name, Address (enter street number only), or Parcel Number.
